Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM11/01/09
A two-time Pulitzer “Ravi – to me, he is the music; it just happens to be that he plays the sitar. And it’s like that with Anoushka. She has that quality – she is the music.” – George Harrison

India’s most esteemed musical ambassador, Ravi Shankar, is a singular phenomenon whose artistry crosses all cultural and musical boundaries. The legendary sitarist and composer has done more to introduce India’s classical music tradition to the West than any other musician. He performs in concert with his daughter and apprentice Anoushka, one of the leading figures in world music today. Deeply rooted in classical music, Anoushka has also flourished as a performer and composer, exploring fertile ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of genres, including electronica, jazz, flamenco, and Western classical music. Returning by popular demand, the Shankar’s inspiring performances always sell out early.
