The Bridge to Wellness

What is the Bridge to Wellness?

  • As part of promoting Tier 3 Mental Health Services on campus, the Wellness Program has developed the Bridge to Wellness to connect over 1,400 students at Santa Catalina Residence Hall to UCSB campus wellness resources and opportunities by providing a space for campus organizations, student groups, and departmental interns to do outreach.

Goals:

  • Encourage students to understand and use campus resources.
  • Enhance students' college experience by promoting students to proactively get involved with campus organizations and departments as well as to further campus resources' outreach efforts to first year students.
  • Create a comfortable and safe space for students to learn information from their peers about the UCSB campus.

Tabling:

  • Campus organizations, student groups, and departmental interns table in the North and South Towers near the Portola Dining Commons.
  • To sign up for tabling, please fill out this Bridge Tabling Request Form directly with the request of the date and time available. Spots are first come first serve according to the current Bridge Calendar.
  • Tabling will occur each week, Monday-Friday from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm.
  • If you are a leader or are a part of a campus organization and are interested in getting involved please contact wellness@sa.ucsb.edu or call (805) 893-2630.

Why this is Good for Your Wellness:

  • Studies have shown that students who engage in extracurricular activities get better grades and feel less stressed.
  • The Bridge to Wellness goals relate to Social Wellness by encouraging ways for students to contribute and integrate in their community by joining student groups.
  • The Bridge to Wellness goals relate to Mental Wellness by offering opportunities for students to get involved in their community by joining campus organizations they find meaningful.
