Health and Wellness aims to empower students in making informed decisions around alcohol and drug use through education and alternative programming events. We work in partnership with many campus departments to provide students with safe, alcohol-free social options throughout the quarter.
The body can break down approximately one drink per hour. Pace your drinks and/or alternate drinks with water to reduce the likelihood of your BAC rising too rapidly (associated with blackouts and alcohol poisoning).
Eat before you drink so alcohol stays in the stomach longer, which allows more time for it to be broken down and slows the absorption into the bloodstream.
Individuals who use marijuana primarily as a coping mechanism for anxiety/depression are more likely to experience negative effects from marijuana use.
