Koru Mindfulness Meditation

Koru Mindfulness is a 4-session workshop series that will teach you the skill of mindfulness. It will also help you build the habit of using it in your life on a regular basis. We’ve found that folks get a lot more out of Koru if they stick with it from beginning to end, therefore attendance at all 4 sessions is required. So double check your calendar and join us for Koru!

Wellness Wednesdays

Wellness Wednesday strives to be a safe place to drop in, hang-out, meet new people, explore well-being, express yourself & learn new things. Join Health & Wellness interns for a virtual wellness experience. Each week we will offer different wellness activities, speakers, and workshops on various topics like stress reduction, acupressure, art therapy, mindfulness, healthy eating, ergonomics, and more! Body Project

The Body Project is a body acceptance group that meets once a week for four weeks to discuss our culture of unattainable beauty ideals, how those ideals affect us, and how we can promote more realistic and healthy perspectives. This research-based and evidence-driven program has been delivered to over one million young women around the world and has been proven to improve body satisfaction, reduce the risk for eating disorders, and improve school and social functioning.

Mindfulness for Social Justice

By acknowledging how capitalist society places value on production over humanity, joy and rest, this series, in collaboration with the Multicultural Center, aims to explore how self and community care may bring us closer to our authentic and full selves, which is necessary for doing social justice work. Using mindful practices as a way to learn more about oneself and create a community beyond the restrictions and expectations of our oppressive society, we hope to provide a tool kit for students to prevent burnout and promote self-preservation. In order to sustain ourselves and our work for the long-term, we must engage with restful practices that are truly restorative to our minds, bodies, and spirits. To that end, we will learn and practice methods to self-soothe, participate in community care, and understand rest as a truly revolutionary act. Our time together will also serve as a discussion space touching upon the topics of grief, rest, spirituality, and capitalism while prioritizing self-discovery, community care, and joy.

Safer Sex Peers

As a Safer Sex Peer, you'll be a resource to other students with questions to offer information and referals to professional resources on the topic of sexual health. Our sexual health education program is designed to provide accurate and comprehensive information about sexual health, safety, and self-agency to a diverse population of 26,000 students. In doing so, students can make informed and thoughtful decisions about their physical, emotional, and social well-being according to their own values, whether their values lead them to choose abstinence or for those who choose to be sexually active.  Safer Sex Peer Training happens in fall quarter.
